Robert Edmond Lee BRELAND

Missionary Baptist Preacher, ordained by Philadelphia Mississippi Baptist Church, on Nov 28, 1907. He was the editor of MS Baptist. He was the department editor for the MS Baptist Record and he was the editor of the Neshoba Democrat. He was the Superintendent of Public Education, Neshoba County for four years. He was representative of Neshoba County, MS, MS State Legislature for four years. He was State Senator for four years. Taught school for a number of years.

1846 and 1850 land transactions in Neshoba Co., MS.

On tax and census, tax, land, etc., records in Neshoba Co., Ms during 1852 to 1870.

Was exluded from Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in 1859 for "getting drunk and other misconduct."

Private, Civil War, Company E, 40th MS infantry, fought at Vicksburg, prisoner at Memphis.

George Washington Jr. JOHNSON

- He enlisted in the Confederate service at Philadelphia, Mississippi, onApril 24, 1861. He served as a Private in Company D, 11th Regiment,Mississippi Volunteers under Captain Franklin. He was killed in actionnear Richmond, Virginia on June 27, 1862. He appeared on a casualty listin Law's 3rd Brigade.


Marion Dallas JOHNSON

- He enlisted in the Confederate service at Enterprise, Mississippi, onFebruary 20, 1863. He served in Company D, 11th Regiment, MississippiVolunteers, under Captain John R. Prince. He died in a hospital atFranklin, Virginia, on May 5, 1863. His file contains correspondencerelated to collecting his pay due from March 1, 1863, until his death.His father states that he left no wife or children, and his fathercollected the pay in June, 1864.
