- He served in Company D, 11th Regiment, Mississippi Volunteers, CSA.Served in Captain Prince's Company. He enlisted April 6, 1861, at NeshobaCounty, MS. He received a flesh wound at Gettysburg on April 2, 1863. Hesurrendered with his unit at Petersburg, VA, at the end of the war. HisConfederate Pension application states that he lost one eye and the useof one extremity as a result of the war.
